Celebrate the GEDC’s 15th Anniversary

Recognizing the global need for a world-wide forum of engineering leaders, a group of over 20 leaders of engineering education institutions and corporate partners first met in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on October 9th, 2006 and in Istanbul, Turkey, on September 30th, 2007. Inspired by the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES) the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC) was created in Paris, France on May 8th, 2008.

The GEDC has made significant contributions to the field of engineering education and research during its 15 years of existence. As a global organization, the GEDC has fostered collaboration, innovation, and excellence among engineering deans and leaders worldwide.

By providing a platform for networking and knowledge sharing, the GEDC has facilitated the exchange of best practices, strategies, and ideas to enhance engineering education globally. Through its advocacy efforts, the GEDC has highlighted the importance of diversity, inclusivity, and sustainable development in engineering. The GEDC’s leadership in promoting innovation and addressing global challenges has helped shape the future of engineering education, making it a valuable asset to the engineering community worldwide.

Join the GEDC founders and all its members to remember our beginnings, count our accomplishments, and bring ideas into the future.
