Dr. Henry M. Alinaitwe is Principal of the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology and Associate Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Makerere University, Uganda. He has previously served as Deputy Principal of the same college, Dean of School of the Built Environment, and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Technology. Henry is a registered and practicing engineer in Uganda.

Henry has a PhD in Engineering from Lund University, Sweden; a Licentiate degree from Lund University, an MSc in Construction Management from Loughborough University, UK; a Master of Engineering Studies in Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia and a Bachelor of Science degree from Makerere University, Uganda. Henry’s education was truly international.

Henry’s research interests are mainly in the areas of construction materials, structures, and construction project management.

In addition to his academic experience, Henry has worked with Technology Consultants Ltd where he is currently the Chairman of the Board.

1992	Was awarded a scholarship by the Australian Government on the Merit Scheme to study at the University of Sydney.
1984	Was awarded a state scholarship at the University and material prizes for being the best Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education candidate.
1983	Was awarded a certificate for being the winner of the Uganda post secondary mathematics contest.
1978	Was awarded a state scholarship to study Secondary School for being one of the best P7 candidates in the South West.
