HESI Global Forum 2024
The Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI) is a partnership between several United Nations entities and the higher education community. In the period 2024-2025, the Initiative is chaired by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, UN University, UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education, and the Sulitest Association - a non-profit organization and online platform aimed at improving sustainability literacy for all.
Each year, HESI organizes a global forum as a special event to the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF)[1] – UN’s main platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the global level - to highlight the critical role of higher education in achieving sustainable development.

The 27th International Conference on Interactive Collaborative Learning (ICL 2024) and the 53rd IGIP International Conference on Engineering Pedagogy will be held in Tallinn, Estonia, on September 24-27, 2024.
This interdisciplinary conference aims to focus on the exchange of relevant trends and research results as well as the presentation of practical experiences in Interactive Collaborative Learning and Engineering Pedagogy.

Global Engineering Capability Review pre-launch at World Engineering Day
On March 4, Engineering X attended the World Engineering Day conference with the theme 'Energy Transition and Sustainability' in Lisbon, organised by WFEO. Shane McHugh, Interim Associate Director for International, presented a preview of the Global Engineering Capability Review 2024 to global engineering leaders and 60,000 online viewers. The Review by the Engineering X Skills for Safety programme, launching later this year, assesses engineering capacity in 115 countries.It aims to identify potential risks from unsafe engineering practices and provides insights for improving skills and capability.

Dr. Divya Nalla is the Director of Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College. Prior to this, she worked as the Principal of the same college for 8 years. She has done her masters in Mathematics from Osmania University, and Phd in Computer Science from University of Hyderabad.
She was presented with Institutional Leadership award by Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE). She is also the recipient of Women in Education Award presented under Dewang Mehta National Education Awards by IPE.
Her research specialisation is Cryptography & Information Security. She presented papers on Engineering education in international conferences on Education, and also served as reviewer and chaired sessions on these conferences.
She has steered the college for an international collaborations and obtained funding from the European Union.
Outcome based education through faculty training and designing of teaching learning processes has been successfully implemented by her in the institute. Taking Engineering Education Research to implementation in the classroom, and experimenting with methods to improve quality in engineering education are the areas she is working on currently.
