On June 6, we celebrated 150 years of engineering in Argentina by honoring Latin American women and guests from 10 countries.
The Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions (LACCEI) and the Colombian Association of Engineering Faculties (ACOFI) broadcasted a live presentation of the book Matilda and the Women in Engineering in Latin America Part II. The publication was co-edited between the Federal Council of Deans of Engineering (CONFEDI) and LACCEI.
With the accompaniment of authorities, teachers and students from every engineering faculty across Argentina, participants via streaming the stories from the authors, who will shared different perspectives of engineering—from the family environment, to the world of work, to leadership and early career experiences.
Matilda II brings together 44 authors from 10 Latin American countries, who contributed 39 articles (19 from Argentina). This book is the sequel to Matilda I, published in 2019 between CONFEDI and LACCEI with such success that it managed to launch different actions in Latin America to make visible the role of women in engineering and awaken early vocations. The book is currently being translated into three languages—English, French and Portuguese.
Con homenaje a las mujeres latinoamericanas e invitados de 10 países, celebraremos este 6 de junio los 150 años de Ingeniería en Argentina.
Acompañados por el Consorcio Latinoamericano y del Caribe de Instituciones de Ingeniería (LACCEI) y la Asociación Colombiana de Facultades de Ingeniería (ACOFI) transmitiremos en vivo la presentación del libro “Matilda y las Mujeres en Ingeniería en América Latina (parte II)”, publicación co editada entre el Consejo Federal de Decanos de Ingeniería (CONFEDI) y LACCEI.
Con el acompañamiento de autoridades, docentes y estudiantes de todas las facultades de Ingeniería del país, disfrutaremos vía streaming las historias de sus autoras, que compartirán las distintas miradas de la Ingeniería desde el entorno familiar, el mundo laboral, el liderazgo y las vocaciones tempranas.
Matilda II reúne a 44 autoras y autores de 10 países latinoamericanos, que hicieron su aporte en 39 artículos (19 de Argentina). Este libro es la secuela de Matilda I, publicado en 2019 entre CONFEDI y LACCEI con tal éxito, que logró poner en marcha distintas acciones en América Latina para visibilizar el rol de las mujeres en la Ingeniería y despertar vocaciones tempranas y hasta está en vías de traducirse a 3 idiomas (Inglés, francés y portugués).
