Thank you to those who have already completed the survey. Our initial analysis has highlighted that the most significant barriers to increasing engineering safety are:the rapid pace of technological advancementa lack of safety culture and behavioursinsufficient investment in training and Continuous Professional Development in the workforce We are still looking for more responses from the following groups to help provide us with a clearer, more equitable global analysis of safety challenges:anyone with an interest in engineering safety in Central and South America, South and South East Asia, and Oceaniathose representing industry, regulatory bodies and governments from any country We have extended our survey deadline until Friday, 8th November 2024.

Engineering X’s Skills for Safety has launched a survey to help address the pressing issue of workers’ safety particularly in industry, where most engineering related incidents and casualties occur. We want to gather evidence to inform our programme and to further improve safety in the engineering field. The survey seeks to:       Understand safety challenges and skills gaps: we aim to uncover the key global safety challenges, skills gaps and technological needs we currently face.Highlight best practices and technologies: we want to identify current best practices, skills and technologies that enable individuals and organisations globally to tackle today’s and tomorrow’s safety challenges.Identify potential collaborators: we aim to find individuals, local and multinational companies, and other stakeholders anywhere in the world who are interested in partnering with us to improve safety.   We are looking to hear from representatives from industries, academics, policymakers, professional bodies, advocacy groups and other stakeholders, from any country working on or with an interest in safety within engineering. This survey will help shape the future of our programme and build a coalition of safety partners and champions. The survey is made up of 11 questions and will take about 15 minutes to complete. The deadline is now Friday, 8 November 2024. Click here to start the survey Best wishes,Engineering X Skills for Safety team
