World Engineering Day 24HRS LIVE

The alignment of the judging criteria with the international framework of Graduate Attributes and Professional Competencies, was intended to demonstrate the impact of outcomes based engineering education among students.

We were very pleased with the participation globally and especially the many women students who participated.

The report from the WED2022 team is here: https://worldengineeringday.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/WED-Final-Report-2022-Lr.pdf

  • We reached 56 million + via social media (Slide 3) and had more than 30,000 views of the 24 Hour Live event around the world, making this one of the largest international engineering events ever held (Slide 31). 80% of viewers were under 35 years and 30% were women.
  • We had 135 registered events globally and the events are still ongoing during the month of March
  • The social media reach can be sent through Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter through #WorldEngineeringDay and #WorldEngineeringDay2022 and abbreviated forms of these.
  • We will keep this content on the website until the end of the year.

We are brainstorming how we will celebrate in 2023 and I hope that UNSW will continue to be an important part of the celebrations.
