Qualifications

Punnoose George is the Executive Chairman of SAINTGITS College of Engineering, SAINTGITS College of Applied Sciences, SAINTGITS Institute of Management and SAINTGITS School of Information Technology.  He has B.Sc. in Engineering from the University of Kerala, his Bachelors’ in Law-L.L.B from Mahatma Gandhi University and his Masters’ in Law-L.L.M from the same University. 

Professional Experience

Er.Punnoose George has experience of about 35 years spread over in Industry, Plantation Management, Financial Services and Education.  From 2001, as Chief Executive and Secretary of Governing Board of Mar Gregorios Educational Society, a not for profit registered society, he co-founded SAINTGITS Group of Professional Institutions.  He played a leading role in planning and development of SAINTGITS Campus and within a span of five years, SAINTGITS College of Engineering became rated among the top ten engineering colleges in Kerala State. The engineering college retains this status  as on date and has graduate and post graduate programs on all branches of engineering with about 2500 students.  Under his leadership, SAINTGITS College of Applied Sciences was established in 2003 and the institution grew to an accredited status with graduate and post graduate courses in Commerce, Economics, Management etc.  SAINTGITS Institute of Management under SAINTGITS Group is rated nationally among the top 100 institutions and second best in Kerala by leading publications.  SAINTGITS School of Information Technology offering courses in Computer Applications also was developed under his stewardship.  He was promoted as Executive Chairman in 2012 and at present SAINTGITS Campus with 1100 residential students provides quality education to about 3500 students.

Er.Punnoose’ career in industry was immediately after his graduation.  He was actively involved in setting up of factories of M/s Concrete Products and Construction Company, Chennai at Salem and Thiruvallam, Tamil Nadu, in all stages from site selection to successful commercial production.  He was involved in marketing and feasibility studies, manpower planning, financial monitoring and became Executive Director in 1999.  He has also experience in management of Family Plantations with Coffee, Rubber and Cardamom estates in different parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.  In 1995, he joined as non executive Director of M/s Geojit Securities Ltd (Presently Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services Ltd) now among the top in its genre in India and contributed in developing the company to be the largest retail brokerage in the country with AUM of  24000 Crores.

Er.Punnoose is also holding leading positions as Vice President of State and National Bodies of Private Professional Institutions.  As a member of a leading choir group ZUMORO from 1995, he enjoys choral singing.  The group has performed nationally and internationally-visiting Poland, Germany, Belarus and Russia, winning many accolades.  He is settled at Kottayam with wife Mini – a Professor in Computer Applications.  His sons Nikhil (from I.I.T Chennai and University of California, Los Angeles), Naveen ( from Purdue University, Indianapolis) and Nidhin-(from ESADE Business School, Barcelona) are pursuing their own careers successfully.
