Engineers as specialists and managers of the future do need leadership skills. They are asked to contribute to the social discourse in an explanatory as well as formative way and to present their arguments convincingly. As leaders, engineers need a broader horizon which could build an ethical coordinate system. This is in line with the educational goals of UNESCO.
