Engineers as specialists and managers of the future do need leadership skills. They are asked to contribute to the social discourse in an explanatory as well as formative way and to present their arguments convincingly. As leaders, engineers need a broader horizon which could build an ethical coordinate system. This is in line with the educational goals of UNESCO.  

Homer, first author (collective) or think tank of the occident, left two leadership manuals: Iliad and Odyssey. Finally, the exemplary role model is the adaptive, versatile Odysseus, a smart leader with taker qualities. Learning to make decisions, winning and keeping mentors, the right behavior and leadership style at the right time in the right situation.

The webinar is about legitimacy as a leader, tricking opponents, winning allies. Here, the power of myth and its practice-saturated “intelligence” should not be underestimated. Millennia of experience from many generations of leaders had been cast and condensed into two Bolly- or Hollywood-ready series seasons.
